Oden’s career was destroyed so early primarily because to injuries. Oden underwent microfracture surgery on his right knee three months after being selected for the NBA.

He eventually decided to sit out the entire 2007–2008 campaign. He played 61 games in his first season of 2008–2009, which is more than half of his career total.

Important Things to Know

For the Dragons, the former Trail Blazer averaged 2.0 BPG, 12.6 RPG, and 13.0 PPG. Oden might have enjoyed a fruitful NBA career if not for injuries.

If not for injuries, according to Oden’s former teammate Mike Conley, he would have been one of the best. Conley also thinks that having a child has an impact on his choices.
