Understanding Your Financial Aid Offer and Billing
The University’s Office of Student Accounts maintains your account. All tuition and campus housing payments are made to them.
If you apply for and accept financial aid, the Office of Student Accounts will use your grants, scholarships, and loans in calculating what may be due and payable for any term.
Cal Grant B stipends, Federal Work-Study, and Campus Job Opportunity eligibility will not be used in calculating your bill, as earnings from these programs are paid directly to you rather than being credited to your student account charges.
San Francisco University Payment Plan
The payment plan provides a convenient means for paying tuition, fees, and room and board through regularly scheduled payments.
USF expects that students will either enroll in the semester payment plan or make a full payment for all charges by the payment due date for each term.

USF Academic Merit Award
Merit-based scholarships are determined at the time of admission; no separate application is required.
Merit scholarships are awarded for academic performance, based on a student’s SAT or ACT scores and USF-calculated GPA for high school coursework available at the time of admission.
Students who apply test-optional will be considered for merit scholarships based on their high school coursework and USF-calculated GPA.
If you are awarded a merit-based scholarship the scholarship will be included in any financial aid award.
Once awarded, merit scholarship amounts cannot be adjusted or appealed. Merit-based financial aid awards can be used for tuition only.
University Tuition Grants & Named Scholarships
Individual scholarships may be intended to benefit students pursuing a particular major or those who have achieved a specific GPA, but they all require a demonstrated financial need.
In addition to the requirement of demonstrated need, these grants require a minimum admitted GPA that is determined after our review of the academic transcripts of the applicant pool.
New students interested in applying for the coming fall semester must file the FAFSA (or Dream Act Application) prior to the priority deadline.
All need-based aid recipients are also required to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually. Students must file for Financial Aid before the University’s priority filing deadlines to ensure the availability of funds.
