What is EBT?

EBT is an electronic system that allows a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participant to pay for food with SNAP benefits.

When a participant shops at a SNAP-authorized retail store, their SNAP EBT account is debited in order to reimburse the store for the food purchased.

All 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam use EBT.

Since June 2004, EBT has been the sole method of SNAP issuance in all states.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP, assists many older adults in stretching their monthly food budget.

But what if even getting to the grocery store is difficult?

If you have limited mobility or do not have easy access to transportation, you may be able to use your SNAP EBT card for online grocery delivery and pickup.

This convenient option, which is typically available via an app or website, can help you save time.

And you still get the food you require without having to step foot in a store.
