Design and Features
The iBuypower 9200 is built into a regular tower shell, it’s constructed in such a way that the moment you look at it, you just like it. It has a steel frame with an LED fin that separates the upper left front from the upper middle.
The machine is very wide at 21.38 by 12.5 by 25 inches ( HWD) and 30 pounds it can take up some room on the desk. It is advised to take a small desktop like the ASUS GR8 II-044Z if your space is small.
There is a side panel with tempered glass that opens up the interior portion. It also has 16-color RGB lighting which is remote-controlled. The laterally tempered glass offers a gaming look that can be seen in show and direction.
It has LED lights and a regular iBUYPOWER gaming keyboard and mouse with a nice view.
The VivoBook UHD 620 graphics that are typical of ultraportable midrange do not provide space for 3D gaming. The ZenBooks Kaby Lake-R processor is relatively new. it comes with dual channel RAM.
Its performance with mid-range graphics cards is actually fantastic; hence its gaming capabilities are minimal. You can run a smooth game in a low resolution and medium quality settings. Especially the games that do not tax hardware.
Port and Storage
iBUYPOWER 9200 i7-8700 K Excellent connectivity. The following ports are available: USB 3.1 ports (4), USB 2.0 ports (2), RJ-45 connector, and a 7.1 audio channel.
There are the following ports on the graphics card: DVI port (1), one HDMI port, and last but not least a display port. There is also an RJ-45 port that connects wirelessly via a Wi-Fi adapter for 802.11 USB.
For storage, there’s a 1TB, 7,200rpm hard drive installed, and the SSD has a 240GB capacity. If you want more storage capacity, it’s very possible to upgrade these drives or even add more to the available drive bays.
There isn’t an optical drive, which is fine given that you’re more likely to download your PC games from services like Steam or Origin. In fact, having an optical drive would simply break the stylish design.
The system comes with Windows 10 Home (64-bit), alongside a wired gaming keyboard and mouse bundled into the package.
Performance: IBuypower 9200 I7-8700K
The iBuypower Slate, when you look at it head-on, isn’t all flash; it has a lot of control. Our review unit as configured is equipped with an 8th Gen., 3.7GHz Intel Core i7-8700 K (Max Turbo 4.7GHz), 16 GB of DDR4 memory, and an Nvidia GTX 1070 (8 GB) graphics card.
This is a great mix for general efficiency and will offer better results than most conventional PCs. It’ll live up to the hype for technical tasks such as media production, video encoding, and photo editing among others.
And if you’re looking for something that helps you to function while not playing, it’s worth a long look at the Slate.
With the quad-core processor, it does edge out the AMD Ryzen-equipped CYBERPOWERPC BattleBox Essential GMA2000A (AMD’s chip is cheaper, is, of course, cheaper) though the latter delivers better multimedia performance.
Nevertheless, the feature set and components are fast enough for day-to-day use, multitasking, and any media projects you’ve always had on your desk.
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 comes in handy in gaming results. Although the card is not the crème de la crème for Nvidia, it is a strong card with remarkable Maximum HD (1080p) and 1440p video and gaming capabilities.
The card is also overclockable, power-efficient, and still runs.
In addition, both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift can be used to get the Virtual Reality groove. As we all know the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 takes the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 back seat.
This is mainly due to a slightly less advanced bidirectional SLI and a lack of GDDR5X memory.
In essence, that means the iBuyPowerPC won’t play 4K and 1440p video as well as the Nvidia GTX 1080 card. Even so, the Nvidia GeForce 1070 is still a powerhouse in its own right, and the fact remains that in gaming it delivers the best…well second-best performance.
On gaming runs, it handled well even the most demanding games with just a few dipping frames on cranked-up settings. For most titles, it played above 60fps on maximum settings.
Dirt Rally played with silk-smooth clarity with 137 fps on 1080p settings and 97 fps on 1440p. The 4K performance was a bit more wanting at 57 fps.
On Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor it calmly collected 130 fps on 1080p settings and 88 fps on 1440p. The performance on 4K was notably low again at 50 fps, but still playable.
In general, the card shows more game worthy gameplay on 1080p and 1440p and more challenge on 4K gaming.
