The Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF), also called the Food Aid Program, is responsible for implementing Kansas Food Stamp benefits.

The Food Aid & Nutrition Program is a nutrition aid scheme, which provides qualifying people with a Kansas Benefits Card (plastic debit card) to purchase food from local grocery stores.
You can obtain complete information on eligibility for Food Assistance by contacting your nearest Office for Children and Families or by calling 1-888-369-4777.
Any individual or group of households whose income and resources are low and who meet certain basic requirements of the program can qualify.
Food aid is accessible to all qualifying persons, regardless of color, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, political beliefs, or disability.

What’s the Kansas Benefits Card?

- Spa/Massage Salons

Foods and Products Not Eligible for Purchase with the Kansas EBT Card
- Hot foods from deli/foods to be eaten in store
- Vitamins or medication
- Pet food

How to Check your Kansas EBT Card Balance
There are three options for checking your Kansas Benefits Card balance. Here they are:
Option 1 – Locate your Last Purchase Receipt
One of the best ways to check the balance of your Kansas EBT card is to find the most recent purchase receipt or ATM receipt (only for TANF receivers).
You’ll find the current balance at the bottom of the receipt on your card. Be sure to save all of your recent Kansas Benefits Card receipts to check your balance using this method.
Option 2 – Check your Benefits Card Balance Via Phone
Another option is to check your card balance by calling 1-800-997-6666 to the Kansas EBT Card Customer Service number.
Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help you get your Benefits Card balance back in.
Make sure your EBT Card code, 4-digit PIN, and Social Security Number (SSN) are ready before you dial.
Input your sixteen (16) digit EBT card number after you call and you will hear your new food assistance or cash account balance(s).
To receive information about your EBT card balance, you must provide this information.
Option 3 – Check your Benefits Card Balance Online
The last option to check your Kansas EBT Card balance is online. You can find out your EBT Card balance online by using the Kansas ebtEDGE website.
Once you are there, put in your User ID and Password. You have to log in to your account to check your EBT balance.
