So can you use EBT on Amazon? Amazon has taken part in a pilot program run by the United States Department of Agriculture to accept SNAP EBT benefits online beginning in 2022. Customers with a valid SNAP EBT card in all states except Alaska, Hawaii, Louisiana, and Montana, can use their SNAP benefits on Amazon.

Does Amazon Take Electronic Benefits Transfer?

Using an electronic benefits transfer card through the supplemental nutrition help program (SNAP) makes all the difference.

It ensures that there is a way to pay for groceries week after week for many people across the United States. While Amazon may not be everyone’s first choice for grocery shopping, they offer grocery delivery.

Amazon accepts EBT because they provide grocery and food delivery (also known as food stamps). However, not all items are eligible, and not all states are represented.

How to Use SNAP/EBT on Amazon

If you are eligible to use SNAP or EBT on Amazon, you must first complete a few steps before you can begin shopping. Foremost, you must link your SNAP EBT card to your Amazon account.

To link your SNAP/EBT card to your Amazon account, follow these steps:

Log into your Amazon account either on the mobile app or on a web browser.

Navigate to the top right corner, where you will see “Account”

When you click on this, you’ll once again see the word “Account” under “My Account”

After selecting the account, they will take you to a screen with several options. Select “Your Payments”

You will then be able to add a new card to your account

What to do After Following the Steps Above

Follow the steps outlined above, then enter your electronic benefits transfer card information into the payment input and save the payment information. This will save that card to your account and allow you to use it.

After that, you can begin shopping for groceries. Add all the items you want to your cart and proceed to the checkout.

When you reach the checkout stage, you will enter your EBT card PIN to pay for the items that are eligible for coverage.

What States Can Use EBT on Amazon?
