On Florida’s Gulf Coast, Fort Myers is a stunning city that is fast growing and has become a popular destination for tourists and people looking to move permanently.
The pristine waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the soft sugar sand beaches are the main draws to this small piece of paradise.
But what I enjoy most about this town is the sheer caliber of the restaurant scene, especially when it comes to seafood.
Since I’m from Florida and a devoted fisherman, I always want to know where to find fresh seafood in case I can’t catch it myself.
Fresh fish and shellfish have always been among the tastiest foods you can eat, in my view.
To aid my fellow seafood lovers who might be in the city, I walked around and ranked all the top seafood eateries in the area.
Fresh Fish Restaurants Near Me at Fort Myers
Check out my list of the best locations in Fort Myers to buy fresh seafood, which is located below. I assure you that you won’t be let down.
1. Blue Pointe Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill
13499 S Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33907
This restaurant sits inside the Bell Tower shopping mall, making it the ideal place to pause and enjoy some fresh seafood in the middle of a shopping trip or before going to a local movie.
Here at Blue Pointe, they specialize on fresh oysters and shellfish prepared in the New England style.
My personal favorite dish to eat is something off the fresh catch menu, such as steamed Maine lobster or grouper, but if sea bass is more your style, it’s also a delicious option.
2. Fishtale Grill
1229 SE 47th Terrace B, Cape Coral, FL 33904
The second restaurant on my list of incredible seafood restaurants is called Fishtale Grill, and it’s just next to Cape Cabaret off of Southeast 47th Terrace.
With every bite of the fresh seafood at Fishtail Grill, you’ll be able to taste the open ocean. They have all the fish and shellfish you could possibly want.
As an appetizer to go along with a few cocktails, I always start with some of the Pine Island middle-neck clams or the giant shrimp cocktail.
After that, I suggest having the ahi tuna trio or the sesame seared tuna as your meal. Here at Fishtale, there are a ton of options to consider.
3. Prawnbroker Restaurant and Fish Market
13451-16 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33919
Since Prawnbroker has been operating since 1982, they must be doing something right for them to have lasted that long.
As soon as you enter the restaurant, you are met by a display case filled with an absurd variety of fish that are so fresh they appear to have just been caught.
This restaurant also functions as an excellent seafood market, so you may purchase fish or shellfish to cook at home.
I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone in the region because they provide one of the best surf and turf dishes I’ve ever had.
4. Shrimp Shack
13361 Metro Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33966
The next location, Shrimp Shack, is a staple in Fort Myers for quick, delectable fish that’s cheap.
Shrimp Shack is located off Metro Parkway, close to Linear Park and Gulf Coast Medical Center.
When you arrive at Shrimp Shack, you have the choice of ordering through the drive-through or dining in.
It’s important to pay attention to this unassuming stop on the agenda. There are a ton of other options on the menu, but I heartily recommend the New England or Manhattan clam chowder.
5. Skip One 41
15820 S Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, FL 33908
Right off South Tamiami Trail, before the BMW of Fort Myers, and before Sky King Fireworks, is Skip One 41.
I adore Skip One, and whether I’m searching for some fresh seafood to eat there or take home and prepare myself, it’s always one of my first options.
When you visit Skip One, I suggest trying one of the combo platters or a specialty platter so that you may sample a bit of everything and ensure that you don’t miss out on any delectable dishes.
Additionally, they provide a variety of sandwiches and steaming alternatives. The shrimp are among the best in the entire city.
6. Izzy’s Fish & Oyster
2282 First St, Fort Myers, FL 33901
The restaurant after that is one of my top picks when I’m in Downtown Fort Myers. A fantastic location to get some delicious, fresh seafood is Izzy’s Fish & Oyster.
By the Florida Repertory Theatre and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, you can locate Izzy’s off of First Street.
Izzy’s Fish & Oyster has a seafood tower that I strongly recommend you try. The seafood towers there are among the best in the world.
Tower #1 includes fish dip, 6 oysters, 6 shrimp, and ceviche. My preferred tower is typically this one.
The next restaurant is Pinchers, and one of the best things about it is that it has several locations throughout the city
So you can never be too far from a delectable feast of fresh fish and shellfish. Crab is, of course, the local specialty, but everything is generally excellent.
In addition to being one of my favorite restaurants, Pinchers also has some of the best drink specials around. All day, every day, they have 2-for-1 cocktails available. What is superior to that?
I frequently enjoy coming here for the raw bar. The raw clams and oysters are delicious.
8. Cape Cod Fish Co
15501 Old McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33908
It’s simple to understand why Cape Cod Fish Co is such a well-liked seafood restaurant in Fort Myers once you’ve had the pleasure of dining there.
They are situated in the same shopping center as Planet Fitness on Old Mcgregor Boulevard.
I suggest anything from Cape Cod Fish Co’s menu that is in the category of their hallmark seafood.
This includes dishes like their baked almond cod, seafood casserole, lobster pie, or baked, filled shrimp, all of which are true treasures.
The best way to have a fantastic lunch or dinner is to order one of these incredible dishes.
9. Dixie Fish Co
714 Fishermans Wharf, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931
Adjacent, I’ll talk about a local favorite of mine, Dixie Fish Co. It’s located next to Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille just before the bridge leading to Fort Myers Beach.
Due to its waterfront location and proximity to the fishing boats, this waterfront restaurant serves some amazing fish.
The most succulent and flavorful way to start your dining experience, if they are available, must be with grouper cheek bits.
I suggest getting some fish tacos after that. Since the catch of the day is typically the freshest, I usually just order those.

10. Deep Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House
14040 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33919
Another fantastic seafood restaurant in Fort Myers is Deep Lagoon, especially if you want to enjoy a lovely view of the marina as you eat.
I love drinking a cocktail and eating dinner while I watch the boats come and depart.
However, my favorite feature is being able to purchase fresh seafood by the pound to take home with me if I don’t want to eat in.
You may come in and sit down at a table here at Deep Lagoon or you can sit at their lovely bar and have a drink. Definitely try the scallops they have here.
11. Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar
14301 Port Comfort Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33908
The next location is named Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar, and it’s a very well-liked spot for local seafood from Fort Myers.
This location is inside the Port Sanibel Marina and is accessible from Port Comfort Road on the way to the Sanibel Causeway.
For those hungry seafarers out there, Lighthouse Restaurant even provides free boat docking for its customers.
Although almost everything on the menu is delectably good, I suggest tasting the Chilean sea bass or the Bahamian lobster tail. They also make an incredible IPA tempura along with a terrific fish fry.
12. Salty Papa’s Shrimp House
15271 McGregor Blvd #1, Fort Myers, FL 33908
If you prefer to eat alfresco, Salty Papas Shrimp House is a terrific spot to go for seafood. The patio is dog-friendly, which is the greatest part, so feel free to bring your canine companion!
They offer a sizable patio where you can relax and take in some fresh air while eating even fresher seafood.
It only makes sense to order a dish that contains shrimp at Salty Papas because it is a shrimp restaurant. The shrimp po’boy is one of my favorite dishes
But the menu is not small and everything is very delicious, so don’t worry too much about it.
There is a ton of seafood, as one might expect from a little coastal city like Fort Myers. The local eateries take great satisfaction in using only the freshest fish and shellfish on their menus.
Hopefully, you now have a clear idea of where to go the following time you’re craving seafood in the area, bye and God Bless You.
