What is Amazon Prime?

Before we move down to see the benefits of Amazon prime shopping, let’s know what Amazon prime is all about. Amazon Prime is an Amazon subscription service. It provides members with special shopping and entertainment options, as well as discounts and other benefits.

Amazon Prime Shopping Eligible Items and Benefits

Free two-day shipping–emphasis on the “free”–enticed many of us to join Amazon.com, the bargain-hunting internet retailer. The origins of Amazon Prime and its huge popularity in the early 2000s were that game-changing cornerstone.

Since then, we’ve discovered additional benefits, some of which are hidden, of Amazon Prime membership, which is currently available to 200 million or so Prime customers globally for $119 per year, or $12.99 per month, for a total of $155.88 per year.

However, with the recent announcement that Amazon will raise its annual Prime membership by 17 percent to $139 in the coming weeks (for monthly subscribers, the soon-to-be $14.99 a month implies $180 a year), you may be reconsidering the benefits of membership.

Aside from free two-day shipping (which is increasingly becoming one-day, same day, and in some regions, one-hour shipping), that journey may surprise you with some of today’s top Amazon Prime features.

Let’s focus on the reason you came to this article. Keep reading to see the top 40 Amazon Prime Shopping Eligible Items and Benefits:

1. Amazon Prime Members Get Free Same-Day Delivery

Free two-day shipping is a thing of the past. Amazon Prime was launched that year. As Amazon expands its distribution facilities, Amazon Prime in the 2020s will be all about getting more things to subscribers at a faster rate.
There’s also the free same-day delivery option.

Free same-day delivery isn’t available everywhere — I’m no longer qualified because I moved to a more rural community in 2020 — but there are over 10,000 eligible cities and towns to choose from.

If your zip code (which you can verify here) allows same-day delivery, Amazon claims that if you order before noon and select the same-day shipping option at checkout, your shipment will arrive by 9 p.m. the same day (Sundays included).

There are two caveats: The same-day order must be worth $35 or more, and not all Amazon products are eligible.

If your same-day delivery order is less than $35, Amazon will charge you a three-dollar extra, so you might want to slow down or bundle your purchases.

Oh, and if you don’t have a Prime membership and need something delivered the same day, you may do so for $12.99 per item if you don’t have one.

Also, you can have Amazon-purchased gifts delivered directly to the recipient. Simply change the delivery address to theirs during checkout (and remember to change it back to yours the next time you order for yourself).

This has a significant impact on product availability, staffing, and shipping. In 2022, Amazon.com, like other retailers, will be dealing with ongoing supply chain challenges.

2. Amazon Prime One-Day Delivery is Free

You could ignore the antsy pants of same-day delivery and wait a day for your gift. After all, why not? As previously said, it’s rapidly becoming the Amazon shipping norm (albeit Amazon’s distinctive two-day delivery remains).

The best part? You can get a free one-day pass from coast to coast. There is no purchase need.

However, there are certain limitations (as they say). Filter your search for “receive it tomorrow” to see if the item you’re looking for is one of the over 10 million eligible goods. The promise is that you’ll get it the next day by 9 p.m., although cutoff times vary by zip code.

This is one of Amazon’s prime shopping benefits.

3. Get Compensated For Using Amazon Prime’s No-Rush Delivery Service

If you’re not in a rush, you can get yourself a little something-something, which is always a wonderful thing.

If you select no-rush shipping at checkout on Amazon, they will immediately reward you with free promotional goodies, such as credits toward eBooks, Amazon Video movies, or Prime Pantry products (groceries and daily essentials).

Unfortunately, Amazon picks the freebie; you don’t. When you choose no-rush shipping, you’ll usually get a $5 credit toward Prime Now or Prime Pantry orders.

Amazon claims that your order will arrive in six business days, but in my experience, it takes far less time.

Oh, and according to Amazon, “during checkout, they will display just one sort of offer per order, either a prize or an instant discount.” More information about free no-rush shipping can be found here.

4. Amazon Prime Grocery Delivery Is Always Free And Extremely Fast

The cabinets are barren, and you and your nestmates are starving. How quickly can those groceries be delivered? Ultrafast!

If you live close enough to Whole Foods, you may take advantage of Amazon Prime’s free two-hour delivery of a wide range of groceries (remember, Amazon bought that supermarket chain in 2017).

After you’ve built your online shopping cart, trained shoppers will do the selection for you. You can set a two-hour delivery window or a one-hour pickup window if you wish to pick up your goods at the store.

Employees at Whole Foods will have everything bagged and ready for you in no time.

5. You Can Try The Wardrobe Before You Buy It On Amazon Prime

As businesses return to in-person meetings, are you ditching your sweatpants in favor of more office-appropriate attire? So to speak, Amazon has you covered.

If you want to avoid the haunted malls, check out Amazon Prime’s Try Before You Buy program, which allows Prime members to try before they buy.

Because, after all, you don’t buy clothes in a brick-and-mortar store and then try them on in the dressing room, do you? Because that’s strange.

Prime’s version of the dressing room is Try Before You Buy. Choose up to six items of apparel, shoes, or accessories (all of which must bear the Prime Wardrobe emblem) and they’ll be mailed to you for free.

You have seven days to try them on and make sure they’re what you desire. Anything you don’t want to buy can be returned for free, no questions asked.

Your package includes a resealable box and a pre-paid return label. All you have to do now is take it to a UPS store (or another Amazon pickup location, such as Kohl’s) and they’ll take care of the rest.

6. Try Before You Buy with Your Own Personal Shopper

Are you having trouble making important wardrobe purchases? It’s time to hire a personal shopper. Personal Shopper in Prime, in particular. Before you buy, try it out.

Yes, Amazon will connect you with a fashion expert who will assist you in putting together a stylish outfit. That stylist is accessible for both women’s and men’s sections and will handle your shopping for you. The additional styling service is only $4.99 per styling, and you can cancel it at any moment.

7. Amazon Prime Allows You To Donate To Your Favorite Charity

Go beyond the twofer and use Amazon Prime to buy and donate to your favorite registered charitable organization at the same time. Really.

AmazonSmile is the charitable version of Amazon purchasing. Simply select a charitable organization to receive Amazon donations and conduct all of your Amazon.com shopping through your personal AmazonSmile website.

You may switch between your regular Prime account and AmazonSmile, and it has the same products and pricing as your regular Amazon.com page.

If you forget, Amazon will gently remind you to visit AmazonSmile, but here’s a hint: You may bookmark your AmazonSmile account and toggle it on and off just like your regular Amazon.com account.

You can choose from over a million qualifying 501(c)(3) public charitable organizations, and the one you choose will receive 0.5 percent of the value of your eligible purchases (there are tens of millions of eligible products).

Friends of Frying Pan Park Farm, a county park in northern Virginia that is a functioning agricultural interpreting farm life from the 1920s through the 1950s, is one of the organizations I’m supporting.

This is one of Amazon’s prime shopping benefits.

8. Sharing Amazon Prime Membership

Share your Amazon Prime membership with your family and friends with Amazon Household. But there’s a catch: You can share your Prime advantages with one other adult in your household if you both agree to share your payment methods (you link your accounts via Amazon Household).

Giving your roommate access to your credit or debit card might be a deal-breaker, but it’s fine for a spouse or significant other. To be added to your Prime membership, your Prime partner must have a separate Amazon account.

You’ll then be able to share Prime benefits like free two-day shipping with others. Teens and younger children can be added (up to four), but they must abide by parental restrictions (younger children cannot buy anything on Amazon).

9. Amazon Prime Members Have Access To Exclusive Brands

As we noted in our piece about Costco’s Kirkland Signature products, Amazon is rapidly growing its private-label offerings, an area with enormous business potential.

Products like Amazon Elements (vitamins, nutritional supplements, baby wipes, and so on) are already available only to Prime members, and the business is expanding its private-label offerings.

Elements are also distinct in the following ways: Scanning a specific code on the goods with your Amazon Shopping app will reveal where every ingredient, right down to the water in the baby wipes, was from.

10. Prime Members Enjoy Unlimited Full-Resolution Photo And Video Storage

You can also include up to five other people, such as relatives and friends. You can browse your photos from any device that has access to your Amazon Prime account.

If you’re like me and have an Amazon Prime subscription besides paying Apple every month for cloud storage for those priceless photos, it might be time to cut some expenses.

You receive 5GB of photo and video storage. Do you want to save documents (such as PDFs)? Make use of Amazon Drive. Do you need additional space for all of this? It is available for purchase.

Customers who use Amazon Photos can now purchase storage options that are invoiced monthly rather than yearly. 100GB plans cost $1.99 per month, while 1TB plans cost $6.99 per month.

Oh, and there’s no need to be concerned about tagging photos. Amazon’s terrifying servers will automatically sort your photos.

Do you need to clear up some space on your phone? Use the Amazon app to upload your phone photos to Prime Photos and then delete them. What’s the worst that might happen?

11. Students Get Access to Amazon Prime

Now that most schools and universities have returned to in-person studying, Amazon Prime Student is available, which is ideal for lounging around the dorm room while watching the latest episode of “Ozark” or playing free games during study breaks.

For the first six months, it’s free if you have a valid “.edu” school email address (along with documentation that you’re actually taking at least one class; maybe not attending class, but taking it).

Free two-day Prime shipping (ramen noodles and Doritos don’t purchase themselves), free same-day pickup, unrestricted movie streaming.

Access to Amazon Music Unlimited for 99 cents per month, and Showtime for the same price, and more are all included in the one-time-only free trial.

After six months, it costs $6.49 per month (half the regular price) or $59 per year for Prime Student. Oh, and textbooks are reasonably priced. If you’re a textbook aficionado.

12. Amazon Prime Members Get Free Music.

Why pay for ad-free Pandora, Spotify, or Apple Music when your Amazon Prime account already allows you to create beautiful music?

Free access to over 2 million “hand-curated” songs, as well as hundreds of playlists and stations designed by Amazon’s music professionals, is included in Amazon Music Prime.

There are also millions of podcast episodes available.

What’s the disadvantage? It’s true that Amazon’s free playlists and stations aren’t as extensive as those offered by competing streaming providers.

However, before you pay an extra $9.99 per month for Apple Music or Spotify, download Amazon’s music app and try it. It could be all you require.

If not, an upgrade to Amazon Music Unlimited, which includes over 75 million songs, including new releases, costs $7.99 a month for Prime members, and Amazon occasionally runs deals that give you 30 days free to try before you buy.

This is one of Amazon’s prime shopping benefits.

13. Amazon Prime Members Get Free Books, Magazines, And Audiobooks

When you have Amazon Prime, you don’t need to go to the library to gain a free loaner. That’s because an Amazon Prime subscription includes access to Prime Reading, which contains a large collection of 1,000 books, periodicals, and audiobooks.

You or your family can borrow up to ten titles at a time from a range of Kindle novels, periodicals, short works, books with Audible narration, comics, and more with Prime Reading.

According to Amazon, the accessible content is updated on a regular basis, and titles are added and withdrawn. Amazon’s proprietary Fire tablet and Kindle e-reader, as well as the Kindle reading apps for iOS and Android, can be used to access Prime Reading.

Prime members also get free access to Audible Channels, a limited version of Audible, which includes podcasts (hey, check out Kiplinger’s Your Money’s Worth there) and other audiobooks and series (which is owned by Amazon, BTW).

To listen, download the Audible app and sign in with your Prime account.

Otherwise, a monthly membership to Audible’s full version costs $14.95 (with a 30-day free trial).

14. Amazon Prime Allows You To Binge-Watch Your Favorite Shows

You’ll find plenty to binge on, from Amazon-produced original movies like “Being the Ricardos” or “The Tender Bar” to Amazon streaming series like “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

And if there’s one thing we’ve learned during the lockdown, it’s how to consume everything.

Yes, I’m increasingly using Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service to view free movies and television shows. If you have a recent TV, the Prime Video app is already installed, so just click it, and voila! Hollywood, hallelujah! Oh, and don’t be concerned.

Amazon is observing you when you’re viewing Prime Video. “Personal recommendations based on your watching history” can be disturbing as well as useful.

You may also save movies and TV shows to your mobile device to watch later (and what you buy, you keep in Your Video Library at Amazon).

Cord cutters will be thrilled to learn that the Amazon Prime app allows them to binge on Showtime, Starz, and a variety of other streaming services. For Prime subscribers, additional prices for those channels range from $4.99 to $14.99 per month.

Oh, and if you were hoping to watch HBO on Amazon Prime, you’re out of luck. HBO was dropped by Amazon on September 15th. Ouch!

15. Amazon Prime Members Get First Access To Lightning Deals

You prefer your deals to be quick and hot. And you want to be at the head of the line when it comes to receiving them.

Amazon Prime members get 30 minutes early access to those one-time, substantially discounted (and limited-supply) Lightning Deals.

Lightning Deals are only available for a few hours (or as long as supplies last), so getting early access is helpful if you really want what’s on sale. Even yet, Amazon cautions that some deals may sell out during the early access period.

16. To Get Access To Amazon Prime, Say Hello To Alexa

Your Prime membership allows you to place orders with Alexa, Amazon’s voice-activated digital assistant if you own an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, or any of Amazon’s other voice-activated Alexa devices.

Say “Alexa, order AA batteries” and a 20-pack of AmazonBasics will come on your doorstep two days later if you forget to buy batteries for a “battery not included” birthday gift.

Naturally, Prime members receive free shipping, and Alexa is already aware of your Prime status.

To learn about exclusive Alexa-only discounts, say “Alexa, what are your deals?” Aside from that, you can have Alexa sing you “Happy Birthday” or tell you a (corny) joke.

17. Discounts and Delivery at Whole Foods with the help of Amazon Prime

In the summer of 2017, Amazon purchased the Whole Foods grocery business.

Since then, customers have been able to order the luxury grocer’s private-label products, such as those from 365 Everyday Value, Whole Paws, and Whole Catch, as well as other items, on Amazon.com.

Amazon has started offering Prime members in select locations free two-hour grocery delivery from Whole Foods. Delivery had been free until recently.

Amazon/Whole Foods now charges $9.95 for each delivery. This is in addition to your annual Prime membership.

Nonetheless, Amazon Prime members get an extra 10% off discount items at Whole Foods (look for the yellow flags) as well as other seasonal deals.

In-store shoppers must download the Whole Foods Market app, join in with their Prime account, and have the code scanned on their phones at checkout to earn the discount.

The Whole Foods Market app will also notify Amazon Prime members about special in-store offers; virtual coupons, to be sure.

You can also have any Amazon.com orders delivered to Whole Foods locations with Amazon Lockers (see below). You may also return Amazon.com items for free at Whole Foods, with no need for a box or label.

18. Fun The Amazon Prime Treasure Truck

Amazon is mobile: A fleet of bubble-blowing, music-spewing panel vans that used to ply the streets of more than two dozen U.S. cities, delivering hot offers on cool merchandise.

You’d get a text alert about the day’s hot item, purchase it online using your Prime membership, and then head over to the Amazon Treasure Truck to pick up your treasures and have some fun.

You used to, at least. And perhaps you will in the future. During the pandemic, the actual physical trucks are offline performing community duty.

For the time being, Treasure Truck subscribers get a virtual Treasure Truck: you still get a daily text about Treasure Truck offers, but you don’t go to the truck; instead, you score the deals online.

When they begin moving again, here’s the four-wheel deal:

Treasure Trucks were first introduced in 2016 in Seattle, Amazon’s hometown, and have since expanded to 29 major U.S. cities.

And metro areas, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, Tampa, and Washington, D.C.

They sell the latest tech trends, outdoor essentials, fresh foods such as giant porterhouse steaks, and more.

You use the Amazon app (or sign up for text notifications) to check out what’s on sale at your local Treasure Truck (or in the city you’re visiting), then make your purchase using the app by selecting “I want this.

“You’ll receive a confirmation email with information about the Treasure Truck’s location (think Whole Foods). It’s up to you to go pick up your purchase.

Warning: The tricked-out TT may have dancers, costumed characters and canines, games, and more, but expect it at a later date, given the current state of social alienation.

For the time being, Amazon will continue to SMS you the Treasure Truck bargain of the day, and if you purchase it, it will be delivered to your preferred location for receiving Amazon packages.

19. Amazon Prime Members Get Free Release-Date Delivery

Are you anticipating the release of a new video game, book (yes, print is still alive and well), film, or the latest single from your favorite band? With Amazon Prime, you can get it by 7 p.m. on the day it’s published.

Perhaps you’re anticipating Metroid Prime 4 on Nintendo Switch, which will be released on December 31. When you make your order, select “release date delivery” and, hello, Primer, you’ll be among the first to see something new and exciting.

20. Deals on Amazon Prime Day

Prime Day is the highlight of the year for many Amazon customers. In 2015, Amazon.com debuted its Black-Friday-in-July Prime Day, ostensibly to commemorate the company’s 20th anniversary.

In actuality, Prime Day (or, more accurately, a day or two) is a strategy for Amazon to boost sales during the summer, when people are more likely to spend time on vacation and less time shopping and shopping online.

Amazon seeks to pique the interest (and wallets) of its 100 million Prime members across the world by offering them special bargains on Prime Day and in the days running up to it.

To purchase, you must be a Prime member, however, there is a 30-day free trial available. To avoid the $119-a-year Prime membership charge, some consumers cancel after Prime Day and before the 30 days are over. Just a thought.

21. Reordering is Simple on Amazon Prime

It’s natural to forget from time to time. You forget when your freezer filter is to be replaced.

Alternatively, you may forget where (and when) you purchased your printer’s fading off-brand, low-cost (but superb) replacement ink cartridges. Or maybe you just want to compare prices between Amazon and the manufacturer’s website for those things. Prime will take care of you.

At the top of your Amazon.com page, click the Orders button (near the cart). It will send you to the Orders page, which will display your purchases from the previous six months by default.

You can also return to the first order you ever placed. On Oct. 24, 2007, I placed my first order, which included an electric toothbrush, a 24-pack of canned salsa, a book (In the Shadow of No Towers).

And a box of replacement heads for the new toothbrush. Please don’t pass judgment; I was only trying to learn.

22. You Can Have Amazon Prime Delivery To Your Car For Free

Because of the COVID-19 situation, Amazon has suspended this delivery option, however when it resumes, if you own a specific make and model car, Amazon will bring your Prime deliveries to your car rather than your front porch, which will help dissuade porch burglars.

If your vehicle qualifies, you must download the Key by Amazon app, which grants the delivery driver access to your vehicle.

The car must be parked in an “open, street-level, and publicly accessible place,” according to Amazon. The cargo will be stowed in the trunk or the cabin, depending on the type of vehicle and the amount of space available.

They accomplish the rest through voodoo. You’ll receive a four-hour delivery window notification, be contacted when the driver comes, the driver will notify Amazon, your car will be unlocked, the package inserted, the car locked, and you’ll be notified once more.

23. Amazon Prime will Deliver to Your House

This one is also on hold because of the coronavirus outbreak, but Amazon’s in-home deliveries when you’re not at home will most certainly resume at some time.

The following is how it works: You install an Amazon-enabled smart lock and camera in your home (Ring, owned by Amazon, works, too).

If you live in one of the 50 metropolitan areas where Key by Amazon delivers this way, you can use the Key by Amazon app to instruct delivery drivers to leave your product inside your home.

You’ll just need to spend a few hundred dollars to outfit your home with an Amazon kit that includes a smart lock and an in-home camera to monitor deliveries.

You’ll be notified when the delivery is about to be made, and you’ll be able to remotely unlock your door with Key by Amazon.

The delivery is delivered just inside your door, and you notice it since you’re viewing it through your mobile device’s camera.

This one-time setup will cost you roughly $220 (plus installation expenses if you’re not comfortable installing the smart lock).

24. When You’re Not At Home, Have Amazon Prime Delivered To Your Garage

Key by Amazon In-Garage Delivery, which is also powered by the Key by Amazon app, is not on pause during the pandemic and is billed by Amazon as the ideal contactless delivery method for keeping your products safe from porch thieves.

Prime members get it for free, and it’s available in over 4,000 cities. You can leave your foodstuffs in the garage.

The following is how it works: When the Amazon delivery app checks the driver’s identification and delivery route, the driver is granted temporary authorization to unlock your garage door.

The verified drivers are only allowed to enter your garage for a maximum of 5 feet to drop off the package. An optional in-garage camera allows you to keep track of their movements.

25. When You’re Not at Home, Amazon Prime In-Gate Delivery

In-Gate Delivery from Key by Amazon is a recent Amazon service. Designed for single-family houses and modest apartment complexes with gated driveways or fences with electronic locks.

To give Amazon drivers access to your locked gate so they can safely secure your shipment behind the locked gate, you’ll need the Ring Access Controller Pro and the Key by Amazon app. This is one of Amazon’s prime shopping benefits.

26. Kohl’s will Accept Your Amazon Prime Returns

You don’t have to pack up your return and go to a UPS or Amazon Hub location to drop it off.

Amazon.com has teamed up with Kohl’s department shops to give Amazon customers (and their giftees, if they have a receipt) another option for returning their Amazon purchases while also increasing foot traffic to Kohl’s.

It’s a win-win situation for both retailers. Customers who must drop off their Amazon returns to customer service now have another option besides UPS locations, and Kohl’s will gain some potential customers.

What makes Kohl’s a winner? Kohl’s customer service desks, in my experience, are located deep inside the shop (or, in some cases, in the back of the second level of the store).

As you drop off the Amazon delivery and exit the store, there’s a lot of potential merchandise to pass by.

27. For Secure Delivery, Use Amazon Hub Locker

Amazon Hub Locker is a great incentive for Prime members who live in places where porch pirates are a problem, whether they’re receiving or returning packages.

The self-serve locker kiosks are available at Amazon-owned Whole Foods shops and other retailers. They’re completely free to use for picking up or returning products.

Here’s how it works: Log in to your Amazon account to locate the nearest Amazon Locker. Put that address in your address book, and when you check out and pay for your order, select it as the default delivery location. You’ll get a code to unlock the locker when the package arrives. Follow the on-screen instructions.

28. At an Amazon Hub, You Can Pick Up Or Return Your Amazon Prime Order

Kohl’s isn’t the only retailer getting into the return-your-Amazon-purchases-at-my-store game. Small businesses are joining the game for many of the same reasons, including increasing foot traffic so that Amazon customers will buy something from them.

This is one of Amazon’s prime shopping benefits.

The following is how it works: To become an Amazon Hub store, a merchant (or apartment complex) contacts Amazon. Shoppers can return and pick up orders at the hub.

The Amazon consumed will no longer have to be concerned about porch pirates.

The Hub store has its Amazon order carefully hidden away. Don’t like what you got from Amazon?

You may bring your order to the Hub location, just like you can at Kohl’s, and they’ll pack it up and return it to Amazon at no cost to you (as a Prime member, returns on most products are free).

That Hub station owner merely wants you to take a look at what they’re selling and maybe buy anything — and then tell your friends about it.

Hub partners can also just host an Amazon Locker, similar to those seen at many Whole Foods, malls, and other stores. This is one of Amazon’s prime shopping benefits.

Amazon Prime shopping benefits

29. Amazon Prime Allows You To Send Gifts Quickly To Friends And Family

You can fast-gift family and friends via Amazon Prime if you’re not bothered with gift-wrapping during the holidays or on birthdays and anniversaries (and, of course, with free two-day shipping).

Add their address to your Amazon address book, shop, and set their address as the default shipping destination when you pay for your order. When purchasing for yourself, just remember to set the default address back to your home.

30. Amazon Prime Has A Selection Of Women-Owned Businesses

Here’s a find: in the Amazon world, you can support emerging female entrepreneurs by shopping at women-owned businesses. The service is accessible on Amazon Storefronts, with clothing, spa products, books, and party supplies among the items provided.

31. Any Day Can Become An Amazon Prime Delivery Day

You can now specify which day (or days) of the week you’d like your Prime deliveries to arrive. If you subscribe to things on Amazon.com for regular delivery, or if you want to be home when your packages arrive, if you want to reduce packaging, or if you just want to say “hello” to the delivery driver, this is a great option.

Tell Amazon the day of the week you want to be Amazon Day, and they’ll put it in their calendar. You have the option of selecting up to two Amazon Days. This is one of Amazon’s prime shopping benefits.

32. Discounts on Amazon Prime at Physical Amazon Stores

And you thought Amazon was just another internet retailer. Say hello to Amazon 4-star, Amazon Books, Amazon Go, and Amazon Fresh, Amazon’s four (soon to be five; see next slide) brand-new brick-and-mortar store ideas.

That is, of course, in addition to Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods, which we have mentioned.

Amazon 4-star businesses sell a variety of products that have received 4-star reviews from Amazon users, as well as a few new products that may not have the highest rating but are popular, new, and trending. This includes Amazon-exclusive goods like the Echo, Kindle, and Fire TV.

Anyone can shop in Amazon’s 4-star stores, but only Prime members get the same Prime prices they see on the website.

There are 44 Amazon 4-star stores open or in the “coming soon” phase in 2022, with locations all over the country. It’s worth noting that some of the stores are only open for a limited time during the pandemic.

Amazon Books is precisely what its name implies: it sells books. It is a chain of bookstores that pays homage to Amazon, which began as an online-only bookstore 26 years ago.

Discounts on Amazon Prime at Physical Amazon Stores

Moreover, they sell a curated selection of bestsellers, new releases, and books rated 4-four stars or higher by Amazon customers in its 24 locations (as with its other stores, anyone can shop at Amazon Books, but only Prime members get Prime prices).

You’ll also find Amazon’s Kindle reading devices, among other things, but keep in mind that this is Amazon Books, not Amazon 4-star or Amazon Go, so don’t anticipate a sandwich or a bunch of electronics.

For breakfast, lunch, and snack time, Amazon Go stores sell pre-assembled, ready-to-eat meals and snacks. The stores are true grab-and-go establishments.

There are no registers in the room. Shoppers enter the store using the free Amazon Go app, which they scan at the entry to get access, then scan the QR code of the items they want, bag them, and leave. They will charge your Amazon account.

In Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle, there are now 26 Amazon Go stores (two of which are temporarily shuttered).

Amazon Fresh (previously Amazon Go Grocery) locations are tiny fresh food markets that sell produce. They also sell meats, and seafood, as well as prepared items created in-store.

At the moment, there are 23 Amazon Fresh locations. This is one of Amazon’s prime shopping benefits.

33. Amazon Style, a High-Tech Fashion Store, is Launching soon

We just mentioned Amazon stores and the rest of their physical stores. Now, Amazon has launched Amazon Style, a high-tech, high-fashion brick-and-mortar store. Browse the latest Amazon-exclusive fashions to get an idea of what you desire. Also, use the Amazon shopping apps to open your private dressing room door.

Inside, you’ll be greeted by personalized signage that allows you to navigate through screens of apparel and request goods to appear in a closet inside the dressing room, where you may try them on.

Or take them to the cashier, where they’ll be bagged and you can walk out the door without paying.

You can do this automatically in the app. Oh, and the apparel in the store is merely for exhibition; there are no racks upon racks of clothing.

The first Amazon Style store, which will sell men’s and women’s apparel, shoes, and accessories, will debut later this year in Los Angeles. You can see the concept in action in this Amazon video.
